After five decades, the band continues to sell out concerts across the U.S. and Latin America.

The exclusive photography exhibit features the work of Lance Dawes, the only photographer allowed to accompany the band on their visit to the prison. Best known for his work as a documentary and editorial photographer, for almost thirty years Dawes has chronicled virtually every aspect of the action sports industry as well as the music and entertainment industry. His credits include Slap Magazine (which he founded and where he was the editor, art director and chief photographer), Thrasher,, the Washington Post, the Associated Press and Juxtapoz Magazine. The Board of Dallas Theological Seminary has named current vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Mark M. Yarbrough, as the next president.

DALLAS, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, October 31, 2019 / — The Board of Incorporate Members of Dallas Theological Seminary has named current vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Mark M. Yarbrough, as the sixth president in the institution’s 95-year history.

Dr. Yarbrough, who will assume the presidency on July 1, 2020, will succeed Dr. Mark L. Bailey who announced his retirement last year and will have served 19 years as president and 35 years at the seminary. Dr. Bailey will finish his tenure as president on June 30, 2020, and will continue with the seminary in the role of chancellor.

In response to this new call to ministry, Mark Yarbrough commented on how “God’s faithfulness to this institution has abounded through the tireless service of men and women since its inception.” As a result, “It has been an honor to be a part of this community, and I am humbled by the invitation to serve in this new role.”

One year ago, the Board of Incorporate Members established an eight-person presidential search committee tasked with finding the ideal candidate to lead DTS through its centennial celebration and beyond. As part of this process DTS selected one of the nation’s leading executive recruiting firms, The Dingman Company, to help manage an extensive national and global presidential search. Robert Murchison, chairman of the Board of Incorporate Members, announced that, “While the presidential search committee did a thorough and outstanding job identifying potential candidates and narrowing it down to a few finalists, the board has unanimously and enthusiastically selected Mark M. Yarbrough to lead DTS into the future.” Murchison continued, “The board is thrilled that Mark Yarbrough will be the next president of Dallas Theological Seminary. Once again, the Lord has displayed His faithfulness through the provision of outstanding leadership to advance the mission of the seminary to equip godly servant-leaders for the proclamation of His Word and the building up of the body of Christ worldwide.”

According to David Stevens, board member and chair of the presidential search committee, “God has prepared Mark to be a uniquely qualified leader. The combination of his passion for the Lord, proven organizational leadership, scholarly excellence, and informed cultural engagement will serve him well as the president of DTS. The board is excited to serve with him and see what the Lord will continue do through DTS.”

Dr. Yarbrough has a long history with DTS, first as a student, having earned both his ThM (1996) and PhD (2008) degrees in Bible Exposition at the seminary; and later as a member of the faculty and administration. For the past seven years, he has served as the vice president for academic affairs and academic dean at DTS. Prior to that he was the vice president for communications. In addition to his role as a senior administrator with the seminary, Dr. Yarbrough continues to teach hundreds of students per year as a professor in the Bible Exposition department, where he has been on faculty since 2003. Before coming to DTS in 2001, he served as a vice president and professor of Bible at Dallas Christian College, his undergraduate alma mater.

During his tenure at DTS, Dr. Yarbrough oversaw the creation and execution of the seminary’s online education program, which has become a standard in the market of Christian higher education. He has been instrumental in academic innovation and coordinating partnerships with like-minded ministries and churches like North Point Ministries and Passion City Church in the greater Atlanta area, Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, and Fellowship Bible Church in Northwest Arkansas. These partnerships, along with the creation of new degrees and other educational opportunities, have resulted in record enrollment for nearly every semester since 2012. Yet, far more than simply gaining additional students, Dr. Yarbrough is motivated by offering solid biblical-theological training and practical skills necessary to succeed in ministry to as many as possible.

“I have watched God develop the character and competence of a leader in Mark Yarbrough, and I know of no one better qualified to steward the sacred trust of leadership at DTS” said current DTS president Mark Bailey, “I am thrilled to pass the baton to him this coming year.”

Dr. Yarbrough’s twin passions for the local church and theological education have worked in tandem for over twenty-five years. At Centerpoint Church in Mesquite, TX, he serves as an elder and pastoral team member. He has also coauthored and recorded multiple songs/albums and enjoys leading worship. In regard to theological education, he loves the classroom and interacting with students preparing for various ministry endeavors. Dr. Yarbrough has written numerous scholarly and ministry-focused works, including Paul’s Utilization of Preformed Traditions and How to Read the Bible Like a Seminary Professor. In addition to his ministry roles, Dr. Yarbrough is active in the community as well. He currently serves on the board for six different organizations and is a sought-after conference speaker. Dr. Yarbrough is married to Jennifer and together they have four children. You can learn more about him at

As mentioned, Dr. Yarbrough will begin his role as president on July 1, 2020. The presidential inauguration and celebration are scheduled for September 12, 2020, with more information forthcoming. You can learn more at

Boston Scientific Corporation Hit with 3 Lawsuits for Serious Injuries Caused by Obtryx Transobturator Sling

Dr Greg Vigna

The women are ‘newly injured’ since the Transvaginal Mesh Multidistrict Litigation in West Virginia (MDL) closed its doors to new cases in June 2018

My criteria for representation for new injuries are the neurological complications known to be caused by the transvaginal mesh devices and symptoms that suggest neurological injury.”

— Dr. Greg Vigna

SANTA BARBARA, CA, UNITED STATES, October 31, 2019 / — Boston Scientific Corporation has been hit with three lawsuits for serious injuries caused by the Obtryx transobturator (TOT) sling used for the surgical management of stress urinary incontinence (SUI). The women are ‘newly injured’ since the Transvaginal Mesh Multidistrict Litigation in West Virginia (MDL) closed its doors to new cases on June 19, 2018. New Injury cases involving Boston Scientific Corporation must be filed in Federal Court in the state of implantation or filed in the Superior Court in the County of Middlesex, Massachusetts which is where the principal place of business is located for Boston Scientific Corporation.

In contrast to the MDL where erosion was the target injury and number of surgical procedures had a correlation to the amount offered in the various Matrix Settlements, the second wave of transvaginal mesh litigation will focus on the neuromuscular injuries and catastrophic pain syndromes including complex regional pain syndrome, pudendal neuralgia, obturator neuralgia, and ilioinguinal neuralgia.

Boston Scientific Corporation is accused of negligence for selling a defective medical device and failing to warn about safety risks and fraudulent concealment of the magnitude of injury caused by this device. The Plaintiffs are represented by Ben C. Martin and Laura Baughman of Martin Baughman, PLLC and Greg Vigna, MD, JD. Ben Martin and Laura Baughman are national pharmaceutical injury attorneys in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Vigna is a California and Washington DC lawyer who focuses on catastrophic injuries and the neurological injuries caused by transvaginal mesh devices including pudendal neuralgia, obturator neuralgia, complex regional pain syndrome, and ilioinguinal neuralgia.

Greg Vigna, MD, JD states, “The decision on where to file a TVM case is a fact specific analysis of the law as it relates to product liability claims, availability of punitive damages, statutory caps on liability, and other factors. In the three cases, we decided, with consent of our clients, to file in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. The injured women, like an overwhelming majority of my clients, are severely injured with disabling pain and are facing significant future care cost and vocational loss.” (KT vs. Boston Scientific Corp, TD vs. Boston Scientific Corp, VH vs. Boston Scientific Corp)

Dr. Vigna adds, “My criteria for representation for new injuries are the neurological complications known to be caused by the transvaginal mesh devices and symptoms that suggest neurological injury. Clearly, there are many women who have had retropubic slings and suffer with neuropathic pain. Many of these women have undiagnosed ilioinguinal neuralgia from the blind placement of the mesh. TOTs and mini-sling devices cause obturator and pudendal neuralgia. The American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS) must educate its physician members that there are many women that have clear symptoms of neuralgia that aren’t being heard by their implanting doctors and aren’t being timely treated for these catastrophic injuries.”

For articles, video resources, and information, visit the Pudendal Neuralgia Educational Portal We also have a new eBook discussing the consequences of sling implantation.

LogicBay Announces the Launch of FUSE: A Digital Ecosystem for the Manufacturing Industry

An environment to drive stronger business relationships through collaboration, learning, and enhanced customer interactions.

The new generation of manufacturing employees expects to have these tools at their fingertips. FUSE delivers this environment.”

— John Panaccione

WILMINGTON, NC, USA, October 31, 2019 / — For more than a decade, LogicBay has deployed digital platforms to help manufacturers drive performance throughout their sales channels. In recent years, LogicBay has noticed a transformative shift within its customer base consistent with global Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing. Today, best-in-class organizations are leveraging digital ecosystems in new ways using digital tools to strengthen business relationships, grow revenue and forge valuable customer-centric interactions like never before. To help meet the needs of their clients, and to serve a broader market of industry stakeholders, LogicBay is launching FUSE – a member-based digital ecosystem created exclusively for the manufacturing industry.

“Many of our longstanding customers, including Caterpillar, Daimler Trucks, and Meritor, have been deploying ecosystem business models using the LogicBay SaaS platform for years. We’ve learned through our experience that there is an imperative to expand technology broader throughout a manufacturer’s ecosystem and allow all stakeholders in the sales channel – including suppliers, dealers & distributors, end-customers, trade schools, and industry associations – to have easy access to the information and tools they need to work and perform better together. All key stakeholders leverage – and contribute to – the value provided within the ecosystem so that the sum of the whole outweighs the sum of the parts. The new generation of manufacturing employees expects to have these tools at their fingertips. FUSE delivers this environment.” said John Panaccione, LogicBay Founder and CEO.

Accenture Strategy recently surveyed 1,252 business leaders across the world to better understand the degree to which companies are leveraging ecosystem strategies. The results indicate companies are aggressively pursuing ecosystems as new business models to navigate, or even be a catalyst for disruption. And when asked what they would specifically focus on to disrupt their industry, 60 percent of executives said, “digital ecosystems.” In addition, “76% of the business leaders agreed that in five years, current business models will be unrecognizable and that ecosystems will be the main change agent.”

FUSE offers a secure, permission-based digital ecosystem where manufacturers, dealers, fleets, educators, trade associations, individuals, and customers can stay connected to conduct business more effectively. The cloud-based platform is a growing collection of public and private channels in a digital environment where all stakeholders can exchange content, ideas, and knowledge; gain access to systems, tools and reporting; and access industry best practices from subject matter experts.

FUSE transforms the traditional industry hierarchical structure to one which empowers its members from the ground up. The resulting network effect generates as much value for the individual members of the connected ecosystem as it does for the organizations that they represent. Anyone can join FUSE for free. Any organization within the ecosystem can establish a public or private channel to manage their ecosystems easier, securely, and more cost effectively.

About Flybar, Inc
In 1918, toy inventor George B. Hansburg introduced America to the pogo stick and opened the original pogo stick company. In 1957 Hansburg patented the "MASTER" pogo stick with the now iconic curved handles and dual supporting bars.
Throughout the decades, the company pursued the quest for higher pogo jumps and in 2000 developed the world famous Flybar, elevating daring riders up to 6 feet high. In 2019 we took a bigger leap and acquired Vurtego, the extreme pogo stick that can fly you 10 feet high. But, we still have bounce products for all sizes and abilities; toddler hoppers, pogo balls, hopper balls and even trampolines. So, yeah, we are proud to be the Masters of Bounce.
Flybar today is not just about bounce. New products in various categories including toy vehicles, swings, sleds and scooters are all designed and developed with the passion and innovation George Hansburg first demonstrated over 100 years ago.

McSally, Booker, and Gillibrand Champion Animal Protection Provisions in Senate Spending Package

When domestic abuse victims seek shelter and safety, they shouldn't have to worry if their beloved pet will be abused if left behind—nor should they have to give them up.”

— U.S. Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ)

WASHINGTON, DC, USA, October 31, 2019 / — Today, the U.S. Senate passed two critical animal protection provisions to protect survivors of domestic violence and their pets and urge robust enforcement of federal animal welfare laws. The measures were included as part of the Senate’s multi-Agency spending bill for FY20 and carried strong bipartisan support.

Led by U.S. Sens. Martha McSally (R-AZ) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), the first provision provides $3 million for a new grant program to help domestic violence shelters accommodate companion animals. The program was originally authorized by the Pet and Women Safety (PAWS) Act, which was included in the Farm Bill signed into law in December 2018 and requires annual funding through the congressional appropriations process. The U.S. House included a lesser amount – $2 million in that chamber’s Agriculture Appropriations bill. AWA helped pass the PAWS Act last year, and our effort to secure funding was a logical follow up.

Far too many victims of domestic violence are forced to choose between their own safety and the safety of their pet, with few shelters having the ability to house pets, and the PAWS Act was passed with the aim to address this problem so that more shelters can accommodate pets. Both Sens. McSally and Gillibrand were cosponsors of the PAWS Act in 2018 – Sen. McSally then as a House Member, and Sen. Gillibrand, as a Member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.

"When domestic abuse victims seek shelter and safety, they shouldn't have to worry if their beloved pet will be abused if left behind—nor should they have to give them up,” said U.S. Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ). "That's why I pushed to get funding for the PAWS Act into this bill. Now, shelters can receive funds to accommodate abuse survivors and their companion animals who are truly a part of the family. It is great to see strong bipartisan support for my amendment.”

“We applaud Sens. McSally and Gillibrand for their leadership in funding the PAWS Act to protect domestic violence victims and their pets,” said Holly Gann, Director of Federal Affairs at Animal Wellness Action and the Animal Wellness Foundation. “Pets are a significant source of support, and oftentimes, a family member. No one should ever be forced to choose between their own safety and the safety of their pets.”

The Senate also included a provision led by McSally and U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) that reflects a move toward enhanced and robust enforcement of federal criminal animal welfare laws, including the animal fighting law, Horse Protection Act, and Crush Video law. It requires the Department of Justice (DOJ) to provide a report detailing enforcement activities of these laws and assesses any barriers to enhanced enforcement. This move comes on the heels of language adopted by the Senate in September directing DOJ to make enforcement of federal animal welfare laws a priority and passage of the Parity in Animal Cruelty Enforcement (PACE) Act, championed by Animal Wellness Action, and was also included in the 2018 Farm Bill. The PACE Act upgraded the current federal animal fighting law to clarify that the law applies to the U.S. territories and takes effect in December of this year.

“We’re grateful to both McSally and Senator Cory Booker for championing the effort to ensure strong enforcement of existing animal cruelty statutes, added Gann. “This sends a strong message to animal fighters that the Congress expects the Justice Dept. to prosecute animal abusers to the fullest extent of the law.”

“We are seeing the enactment of strong federal anti-cruelty laws, and we need enforcement if they are to have meaning and to protect animals from malicious cruelty,” said Wayne Pacelle, Founder of Animal Wellness Action.

The U.S. House also took bipartisan action to crackdown on animal fighting and other federal animal welfare crimes, voting by an overwhelming margin of 381 to 50 earlier this year to dedicate $2 million to the effort earlier this year. The effort was led by U.S. Reps. Haley Stevens (D-MI), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Joe Neguse (D-CO), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Ben McAdams (D-UT), Peter King (R-NY), Madeleine Dean (D-PA), Vern Buchanan (R-FL), and Cindy Axne (D-IA).

The Animal Wellness Foundation (Foundation) is a Los Angeles-based private charitable organization with a mission of helping animals by making veterinary care available to everyone with a pet, regardless of economic ability. We organize rescue efforts and medical services for dogs and cats in need and help homeless pets find a loving caregiver. We are advocates for getting veterinarians to the front lines of the animal welfare movement; promoting responsible pet ownership; and vaccinating animals against infectious diseases such as distemper. We also support policies that prevent animal cruelty and that alleviate suffering. We believe helping animals helps us all.

Animal Wellness Action (Action) is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(4) organization with a mission of helping animals by promoting legal standards forbidding cruelty. We champion causes that alleviate the suffering of companion animals, farm animals, and wildlife. We advocate for policies to stop dogfighting and cockfighting and other forms of malicious cruelty and to confront factory farming and other systemic forms of animal exploitation. To prevent cruelty, we promote enacting good public policies and we work to enforce those policies. To enact good laws, we must elect good lawmakers, and that’s why we remind voters which candidates care about our issues and which ones don’t. We believe helping animals helps us all.

Take Time This Fall to Reset Before Winter Sets In

Once the leaves start to change color and litter the ground, we slow down a bit to take in the kaleidoscope of color that Mother Nature presents.

BANCROFT, ONTARIO, CANADA, October 31, 2019 / — There’s something about fall that changes the speed at which we experience life. Once the leaves start to change color and litter the ground, we slow down a bit to take in the kaleidoscope of color that Mother Nature presents.
Of course, city living changes that slowing process. The experience is often rushed by all the commotion of city life.
Getting away from the city and the hustle of life is good for the soul. And more so in the fall. The cool air is refreshing and clears the head to allow new thought processes, and clears the mind of negative thoughts and energy.
Take a trip into the scenic area of the Ottawa Valley, Kawarthas and the Muskokas and discover a beautiful world full of fun surprises. The drive alone is a pleasure, with it’s twists and turns. One never knows what they might see around the next bend.

Many small towns dot the area, each with their own treasures to discover. Farmers Markets and antique stores are plentiful so hop out of your car to stretch while touring the area and find that perfect item you’ve been looking for. Fall is the time for Studio Tours, and most towns host one where you can visit local artists in their own studio. Why not start your Christmas shopping early?

Pumpkin patches and corn mazes are quite easy to find once you’ve left the city, where you can pick your own pumpkin. This is the time for apple picking as well, and the farmers in the area are waiting for you!

Why not head out for the weekend and take a mini vacation before winter sets in? There are plenty of small inns and B&B’s in the area. If you’re headed to the Bancroft area, check out Footprints Resort, an adults only boutique resort, that rents out rooms and cabins on their 10+ acre property. When you’re tired of travelling all day, enjoy their nightly campfires or soak away the stiffness in their hot tub. The view of the fall leaves across their private lake is incredible. They close for the winter at the end of October, so get out there now.

— Martin Bilodeau
