Ryan & Jana Johnson Join President’s Club After Growing Sales for International Minute Press in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho, Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ryan and Jana Johnson, owners of International Minute Press in Coeur d’Alene, ID, have joined the Minuteman Press International President’s Club after a period of significant growth that included an acquisition, increased marketing efforts, and a continued focus on customer service and operational efficiency. Ryan and Jana have owned International Minute Press since February of 2024 when they purchased Action Printers, an independent printing business that had served the area for 30 years. They continued that legacy while building their business with the resources and support of Minuteman Press. In March of 2025, the business expanded again with their acquisition of local print shop ProPrint.

“Ryan and Jana have more than doubled sales through the acquisition as well as utilizing the Internet Marketing Program. The team has also streamlined systems and workflow to ensure minimal overtime and improved marketing efforts inside and outside of his center,” says Chris Jutt, MPI Regional VP, Pacific Northwest.

Focusing on the Fundamentals

For Ryan, the growth of the business has come from combining strategic expansion with a commitment to getting the basics right every day. Ryan says, “We acquired ProPrint, which was an important part of our growth. Beyond the acquisition, we have really focused on operations and customer service. I believe the fundamentals matter a great deal in this business.”

He continues, “If you consistently provide a high-quality product, at a reasonable price, and deliver it when the customer expects it, customers come back and refer others. We have worked hard to build a reputation for being a printer our customers can depend on.”

International Minute Press in Coeur d’Alene remains focused on traditional commercial printing, producing booklets, cards, forms, flyers, brochures, envelopes, and other essential business products. “Our focus has been on doing that core commercial printing work very well and becoming a reliable resource for local businesses and organizations,” Ryan says.

Building Relationships in Coeur d’Alene

Ryan credits strong community relationships as another key driver of growth. International Minute Press is active in local business organizations, while organic search and targeted search engine marketing also help generate new customers. “Our marketing is primarily relationship-driven,” Ryan says. “We are very active in local business organizations and have developed a strong network of customers and referral partners throughout the community.”

Ryan is especially active in BNI and the North Idaho Building Contractors Association (NIBCA). He says, “The business community in Coeur d’Alene and North Idaho is amazing. It is a growing area, but it still has a very relationship-oriented business culture. People know one another, refer business to one another, and genuinely want to see local businesses succeed.”

From Economics Professor to Business Owner

Before becoming a business owner, Ryan taught economics at the University of Arizona. He was drawn to Minuteman Press because it offered the independence of entrepreneurship backed by an established franchise system. “I was attracted to Minuteman Press because I wanted the opportunity to own and grow a business, and I liked the combination of local entrepreneurship with the resources and support of an established franchise system,” Ryan says.

That support has played an important role as Ryan has grown the business. He credits local field representative Alonso as well as Chris and Michael Jutt for providing guidance, particularly during the ProPrint acquisition and a significant equipment issue. “The training and support have been excellent,” Ryan says. “Alonso, our local field representative, has been an amazing resource. Chris Jutt has also provided a great deal of training and support and worked very hard to help make our acquisition of another print shop a reality.”

Ryan adds, “Chris and Michael Jutt provided valuable advice and guidance as I worked through the process of getting a replacement machine into the shop and keeping us moving forward. The market strength and expertise of Minuteman made all the difference.”

He also credits Jim Hill, Brendon Reilly, and the FLEX support team for their responsiveness. “One of the things I appreciate about Minuteman Press is that there are people throughout the organization we can turn to when we run into a problem or need advice.”

Rewards of Business Ownership

For Ryan, reaching the President’s Club is especially meaningful because the growth of International Minute Press has also created stronger relationships with customers, community members, and his team. “Growing the business has been a challenging and rewarding experience,” Ryan says. “Professionally, it is satisfying to see the business grow and to know that our efforts to improve the operation are producing results.”

He adds, “We have a wonderful team, and seeing them succeed and take pride in the work we produce is one of the most rewarding parts of owning the business.”

As for his advice to fellow Minuteman Press franchise owners, Ryan returns to the principles that have helped drive his own success. “Focus on the fundamentals. Provide a high-quality product at a reasonable price, deliver it when you promised, and take care of your customers. If you do those things consistently, you will build trust, earn repeat business and referrals, and you will grow.”

Ryan concludes, “Sales growth is important, but you have to be able to deliver on what you sell. Strong operations and good customer service are what turn new customers into long-term customers.”
